I recently discover this great collection of charts showing relative sizes and ratios for a wide variety of film, video and digital formats. The author, Tyler Giner, is a Combat Camera Platoon Leader in charge of a team of videographers and photographers who travel the world gathering historical footage for the U.S. Army. His blog is relatively new but each post is a thoughtful examination of practical issues faced by today's image makers.
